Hide & Seek - Game of Life

We all loved playing this game in childhood

A memory from my childhood crossed my mind recently and instantly brought a smile to my face. For a moment, I could hear the laughter again. One child stood against a wall with closed eyes, counting loudly:

One… two… three…

The rest of us ran in every direction. Someone disappeared behind a door. Someone squeezed beneath a table. Someone stood behind a curtain, completely unaware that their feet were still visible.

We tried not to laugh. Our hearts raced as footsteps came closer. We were afraid of being found but secretly excited by the possibility. That was the magic of hide-and-seek.

The hiding… The searching… The suspense… The discovery…

As I remembered those moments, an unusual question entered my mind:

Who invented this game?

Whoever created it may have understood something extraordinary about human life.

Because hide-and-seek was never only a childhood game.

It was preparation. Yes! Preparation for LIFE.

Would you play it again today?

Imagine someone knocking on your door and saying:

“Come outside. We are playing hide-and-seek.”

You would probably laugh. You might say:

“Come on—I am not a child anymore.”

Or perhaps:

“I do not have that kind of time or energy.”

And you would be absolutely right. You stopped hiding behind doors, curtains and furniture many years ago. But what if I told you that you never truly stopped playing?

The moment you stopped playing hide-and-seek… the game started playing with you.

The partners changed

As children, the game had two roles:

One person hid. Another person searched. Adult life has the same structure but now the game is played by two very different groups of partners.

The good partners

Health. Happiness. Peace. Clarity. Confidence. Wealth. Purpose. Freedom. Self-respect. Healthy relationships. Meaningful connection. An abundant life.

The bad partners

Stress. Anxiety. Depression. Sickness. Sadness. Addiction. Worry. Overthinking. Unhappiness. Lack. Fear. Ignorance.

And this is how the adult game begins:

One partner appears and another goes into hiding.

Stress walks into your life, and peace disappears. Overthinking becomes loud, and clarity hides. Sickness appears, and suddenly health becomes the one thing you desperately seek. Lack becomes visible, and abundance feels impossible to find.

Anxiety arrives, and confidence seems to vanish. Addiction takes control, and freedom slips quietly into the shadows. You may finally find financial success but discover that your health has gone missing.

You may find a relationship but lose your sense of self. You may build a respected career but realize that happiness has been hiding for years. You may become highly productive while peace, purpose and emotional well-being remain nowhere to be found.

One good partner returns. Another disappears.

One bad partner leaves. Another takes its place.

And so the search continues.

The hiding places have become more sophisticated now

As children, we hid behind curtains.

As adults, we hide behind identities.

“I am busy.”

“I am strong.”

“Everything is fine.”

“I do not need anyone.”

“This is simply how life is.”

We hide exhaustion behind productivity, Anxiety behind preparation. Fear behind control.

Loneliness behind independence. Unhappiness behind achievement. Relationship problems behind perfect photographs. Emotional pain behind a life that appears successful from the outside. Sometimes suffering does not disappear.

It simply learns how to look successful.

It dresses professionally. It answers emails. It attends meetings. It smiles for photographs. It tells everyone:

“I am fine.”

The child hiding behind the curtain wanted to be found. The adult hiding behind success often hopes no one looks closely enough.

Why do the same patterns keep returning?

Most people respond to this game by chasing whichever good partner has disappeared. When health hides, they chase health. When wealth hides, they chase money.

When happiness hides, they search for another experience, achievement or relationship. When peace hides, they look for distractions. But chasing the missing partner does not always reveal why it disappeared.

That is why the same stress, anxiety, overthinking, relationship conflicts and limiting patterns can keep returning even after temporary improvement.

We focus on the visible problem. But the deeper pattern remains hidden. And whatever remains hidden continues influencing the game.

The game cannot be escaped but it can be mastered

Life will continue to move. Circumstances will change. People will enter and leave. Success will bring new responsibilities. Relationships will reveal new parts of us. Our bodies, priorities and identities will evolve.

We cannot permanently lock every good partner inside our lives. Nor can we guarantee that every painful experience will remain hidden forever. So the answer is not to run faster. It is not to chase every missing piece. And it is not to pretend that the bad partners do not exist.

The answer is self-mastery.

A master player understands the rules. They recognize patterns before those patterns take control. They observe their reactions instead of automatically becoming them. They understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviour, health, relationships, purpose and prosperity.

They stop asking only:

“How do I make this problem disappear?”

And begin asking:

“What pattern keeps inviting this problem back into my life?”

That question changes the entire game.

Human transformation begins beneath the symptom

Stress management is valuable. Positive thinking can be helpful. Motivation can create temporary movement. But lasting human transformation requires us to understand what is happening beneath the visible symptom.

Why does the mind keep returning to the same fear?

Why do the same relationship patterns repeat with different people?

Why does success still feel empty?

Why does peace disappear whenever uncertainty arrives?

Why do we continue making choices that contradict what we consciously say we want?

These questions lead us away from chasing isolated problems—and toward understanding the complete human system. That is where personal development becomes personal mastery. You stop reacting to every player who enters the game. You begin recognizing who invited them.

Are you playing or being played?

Pause for a moment. Look at your life as though you are watching a movie. Which good partner are you currently searching for?

Health? Peace? Happiness? Confidence? Financial abundance? Purpose? A healthy relationship?

Now ask yourself:

Which bad partner keeps appearing whenever that good partner disappears?

Stress? Fear? Overthinking? Self-doubt? Emotional exhaustion? An old belief? A recurring behaviour?

The most important question is not:

“How quickly can I find what is missing?”

It is:

“Do I understand the rules of the game I am playing?”

Because until you understand the rules, you will continue chasing one missing piece after another. But once you begin seeing the deeper patterns, the game changes. Not because life suddenly becomes perfect. Not because difficult experiences never return. But because they can no longer move you around without your awareness.

It is time to master the game

You may not be able to stop life from playing hide-and-seek. But you can stop playing unconsciously. You can learn why your good partners disappear.

You can recognize how the bad partners enter. You can understand the laws, principles and patterns shaping your health, happiness, relationships, purpose and prosperity.

And you can develop the self-awareness, emotional resilience and inner alignment required to play differently. The game did not end when childhood ended.

It simply became more real.

The question is no longer:

“Where is everyone hiding?”

The question is:

“Am I ready to stop being played and learn how to play like a master?”

Through OmniLifeShift and my book, Formula of Life, I teach the deeper laws and principles that help people understand the patterns behind their health, wealth, happiness, relationships and success.

It may be time to stop searching blindly and finally understand the game.
